Authorities in Buncombe County are investigating after a body was discovered, Wednesday near Elk Mountain Scenic Highway.
Deputies with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office say the discovery happened during a search for a man who had been reported missing last month. At this point, investigators say it’s still unclear whether the deceased person is the missing man.
Officials say the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will work to confirm the person’s identity. More details will be released once identification is made and the next of kin has been notified…
