ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville code enforcement staff are expected to visit the Mountaineer Inn on Friday after the property owners failed to respond to requirements to bring the site into compliance.
Brad Branham, city attorney for the City of Asheville, said the owners have not responded to a court order to clean up the site. The defunct motel on Tunnel Road is in violation of code requirements.
“We at the City are going to be sending a compliance team to investigate the situation to make a determination whether or not all of the issues have been resolved. I suspect it is unlikely. If the issues have not been resolved, we have to determine what additional steps the city will have to take to abate the issues ourselves,” Branham said…
