Albany fire displaces 8, Red Cross provides emergency aid

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- A fire at 20 Central Avenue in Albany displaced eight people, including four children, Wednesday, March 4.

According to Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory, the fire started at 10:11 p.m. in a second-floor apartment due to a malfunction in a ceiling-mounted light fixture. Firefighters arrived at 10:15 p.m. and had the fire under control by 10:27 p.m.

The building, which has commercial space on the first floor and apartments on the second and third floors, suffered smoke and water damage…
