South Carolina man sentenced to nearly 13 years for distributing meth was linked to Sinaloa cartel, DOJ says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A South Carolina man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for distributing kilogram quantities of methamphetamine supplied by a Mexico-based drug trafficking organization with ties to the Sinaloa cartel, federal prosecutors announced.

Nicolas Yarcil Uribe-Tamayo, 26, of Easley, was ordered to serve 151 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina.
