BUFFALO, N.Y. — When news of rising tensions involving Iran made headlines, it reopened painful memories for one mother whose son was killed in combat.
Marine Gunnery Sgt. Aaron Michael Kenefick died on Sept. 8, 2009, at age 30 while supporting combat operations in Kunar province, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
