Substitute teacher arrested for inappropriate messages to student

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man hired as a substitute teacher for Fort Wayne Community Schools has received felony charges for inappropriate communications and shared images with a student.

30-year-old Tyler Rush has been charged with Dissemination Matter Harmful to Children, a Level 6 Felony, and Official Misconduct, also a Level 6 Felony.

These charges stem from uncovered social media communications he had with a minor girl, who is a student at North Side High School, where he was a substitute teacher.

Inappropriate messages and images were shared through Instagram and Snapchat. These messages were unveiled after the student came forward to school officials, reporting the behavior. School officials immediately reached out to the DCS hotline…
