SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Spartanburg County Magistrate’s Office said a Spartanburg County councilman has been arrested.
Officials said Monier Abusaft was charged by the USC Upstate Police Department with assault and battery – third degree. He was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center after 3:30 p.m.
USC Upstate said the charge stemmed from an incident at the Black History Month Festival on Feb. 28, hosted by NACCP Spartanburg.
