Florida measles numbers rising, 10 more reported, 93 total in one county

Collier County added 10 more measles cases to the list, bringing this year’s total of reported cases to 124, according to the latest numbers from the Florida Department of Health.

Most of the 93 reported cases in Collier are victims between the ages of 15 to 24, according to FDOH data. An outbreak has been sweeping through the campus of Ave Maria University, a small Catholic school with roughly 1,400 students, since late January.

However, Collier also added two new cases in children four years of age or younger, and one each in the age brackets 55 to 59 and 60 to 64…
