Starting over at ShoppingTown: County takes second shot at finding a developer for dead mall

Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County is seeking a new developer for ShoppingTown, the DeWitt mall that closed in 2020 and was purchased by the county in hopes of turning it into a mixed-use community.

The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency is set to vote this morning to issue a new request for proposals from developers interested in taking on the 65-acre property off Erie Boulevard East. The deadline for submissions will be in 60 days.
