Tampa Traffic Alert: Major Ramp Closure Set To Snarl Weekend Traffic

TAMPA, Fla. — Drivers planning to hit the road in Hillsborough County this weekend will need to find a workaround for a key interstate connection. Starting at 11 p.m. this Friday, March 6, the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (SR 574) will be shut down completely.

The closure, managed by the Florida Department of Transportation and its contractor, C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc., is scheduled to last until 6 a.m. Monday, March 9. While the goal is to have the ramp back in service for the Monday morning commute, officials noted that the timeline is dependent on the weather.
