RENSSELAER, N.Y. (NEWS10) — South Street in the city of Rensselaer will be closed between Aiken and Second Avenues for construction work. The closure begins at 7 a.m. on March 23.

Crews will be working on the South Street bridge replacement over Mill Creek as well as pedestrian improvements. The project will replace the existing bridge and reconstruct the road between Aiken and South Avenues. A new, full-length pedestrian sidewalk will also be added.
Detour routes will be posted. The project is expected to be completed by the fall.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to plan extra travel time while construction is ongoing…
