Lenoir owners Todd Duplechan and Jessica Maher fell in love in a bar — since-shuttered Reade Street Pub in New York City — and now they have one to call their own.
The married couple, who met while working for chef David Bouley in New York City, are opening neighborhood bar Boni’s on Friday at 1805 S. First St., next door to their restaurant, which has been a staple of the Statesman’s best restaurants list since opening in 2012.
“I’m super nervous, but I’m really excited,” Maher said, sitting on the patio of the bar, which is housed in a building that dates back to 1934. “It’s what has been missing at the restaurant, that feels like we have been apologizing for forever.”…
