Louisiana is currently short over 500 full-time physical therapists, a gap that is only expected to widen over the next decade, according to a 2022 study published in the Journal of the American Physical Therapy Association, safe major interventions to grow the local workforce.
One such intervention just kicked off at Ochsner Lafayette General, where a new program to train physical therapists was officially launched on Monday.
