Gordon McKernan, the Baton Rouge-based personal injury attorney that announced his entry into the New Orleans legal market a year ago with a high-profile ad campaign, is continuing his local expansion with the purchase of a 30,000-square-foot office building in Metairie.
McKernan said he paid a little more than $6 million for the three-story building at 3900 Veterans Memorial Blvd., which is a few blocks from the temporary offices he currently leases.
“I want bricks-and-mortar and boots on the ground. I want to be a part of that community,” said McKernan by phone Wednesday. “There are some other attorneys that don’t do that. They might just have a receptionist in one of those executive offices, and all the attorneys and staff are housed in one central city.”…
