Deanie’s Seafood employee arrested, accused of stealing more than $25K from Bucktown business

A longtime employee of Deanie’s Seafood was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the popular Bucktown restaurant and market.

Cynthia Esquerre, 51, of Metairie, was booked with theft valued over $25,000 and 109 counts of computer fraud, according to Sgt. Brandon Veal, spokesperson for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Esquerre worked for years at the restaurant’s Lake Avenue location in Metairie, according to authorities. She was an employee in the seafood market and would sometimes serve as an on-duty manager…
