DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (DC News Now) — A multi-organizational effort into a drug trafficking operation out of an auto-repair shop in District Heights has resulted in the conspirators pleading guilty.
56-year-old Norville Clarke, of Clarksburg, and 39-year-old Daniel Cruz, of Los Angeles, California, were charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substance.
An investigation began in March 2023 after a parcel was mailed from the Los Angeles area with the destination address being Clarke’s auto shop. The package was intercepted and investigators found around two kilograms of cocaine that was eventually linked back to Cruz.

In January 2024, a freight-shipment container heading from Los Angeles to the auto shop was flagged. Law enforcement saw Cruz on surveillance footage as he dropped off the freight shipment at the California shipping company. Cruz then traveled to Maryland to follow the delivery…
