Bossier City approves open container rule at Louisiana Boardwalk

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) – Bossier City has approved a new open container rule at the Louisiana Boardwalk, allowing people to carry drinks from permitted businesses in non-glass containers while walking the property.

Mayor Tommy Chandler introduced the change. Alcohol is not permitted in parking lots, and outside containers are prohibited under the rule.

Council’s reasoning

Bossier City Councilman Vince Maggio said the council approved the change to attract new businesses and foot traffic.
