WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The city of Wichita is working to address mold issues at several fire stations, with contractors visiting Station 13 this week to assess damage and submit bids for remediation.
Fire Station 15 was evacuated due to mold and remains closed. Stations 3, 11, and 13 are next on the city’s remediation list.
Station 13 tour reveals water damage, mold areas
A walkthrough of Station 13 found several areas with mold and visible water damage, including ceiling tiles with water stains. Contractors visited the station Tuesday to evaluate the mold and provide remediation bids. The city has not disclosed a timeline or cost for work at that location.
