Just two months into 2026, fires have led to the temporary closures of three local restaurants, including the latest, the Los Dos Potrillos outpost at 10065 West San Juan Way in Littleton, which experienced a kitchen fire on Tuesday, March 3.
In January, a fire forced Jack’s Modern Steak House, the sister eatery of Jack’s on Pearl, to shut its doors just a week after its debut in the former Mimi’s Cafe space at 9155 Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree. It remains closed with no updates on reopening plans.
Last month, Odyssey Italian Restaurant also experienced a fire that has kept its doors closed ever since. While there is no damage visible from the outside, owner Jason Alfonso says that the interior of the converted three-story mansion “is pretty bad.” Some Odyssey dishes (and its popular Monday night pasta deal) are currently on offer at the Italian spot’s sister restaurant, Ollie & Parks, and neighbors are stepping up to support the restaurant’s staff. On Monday, March 9, Don’s Club Tavern will be raising money for the cause from 7 p.m. to close.
According to West Metro Fire, crews responded to a reported structure fire at the Los Dos Potrillo’s Littleton location just before noon March 3 after multiple callers to 911 “reported flames visible from the roof. Firefighters arrived to find the fire had started in the kitchen and traveled through the hood ventilation system, pushing heat and flames upward. Crews, working alongside the building’s automatic sprinkler system, quickly brought the fire under control. Damage was contained to the kitchen area, though smoke and water impacted the remainder of the restaurant. All patrons and employees evacuated safely, there were no injuries.”…
