Stolen checks lead to arrest of former business employee in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – A former employee of Gotcha Burger is facing serious charges after an investigation into stolen business checks, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that 32-year-old Forrest Jedidiah Barrios, 32 of Veneta allegedly cashed payroll checks to himself and was linked to missing checks from the business. When confronted by the owner, Barrios denied any involvement and left the restaurant, police said. A detective from the Eugene Police Property and Financial Crimes Unit found enough evidence to arrest Barrios on 11 counts, including identity theft, forgery, and first-degree theft…
