Opposition to proposed data center mounts as Columbus Planning Advisory Commision considers zoning overlay district

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) –– The discussion of a proposed data center for Columbus was front and center on Wednesday morning. The city’s Planning Advisory Commission considered rules and regulations for the zoning of such projects.

And the meeting drew a crowd – most of them opposed to a large-scale data center that would be located in northeast Muscogee County, near the Harris and Talbot County lines.
