MISENHEIMER, N.C.(March 4, 2026) — Pfeiffer powered to a doubleheader softball sweep of Averett on a warm Wednesday afternoon at Jack Ingram Field, taking game one, 11-3, and game two, 6-1, behind explosive innings at the plate and strong pitching in both contests.
Game 1: Pfeiffer 11, Averett 3 (5 inn.)
Pfeiffer broke open a tight game with a seven-run third inning, turning a 1–0 deficit into a commanding lead. The Falcons racked up 12 hits, scoring in bunches during both the third and fourth innings.
Freshman Heather Vaughn led the offense, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored, including a pair of key run-scoring hits during the Falcons’ big third. E.A. Nance added a two-run homer, part of a three-RBI performance that helped bury the Cougars.
