HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Downtown Rescue Mission is expanding its Owen’s House Facility, a shelter that provides support and housing for women and children experiencing crisis in Huntsville.
Leaders with the mission say the expansion is aimed at meeting a growing need as the region’s homeless population continues to rise. Owen’s House serves as a lifeline for neighbors in need, providing daily meals and emergency shelter 24/7. After opening Owen’s House in 2018, the facility reached full capacity in under a year, underscoring the urgent need for additional space.
