ANTWERP TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Plainwell man was arrested on fleeing and eluding and drug charges in Antwerp Township early Wednesday morning.
Just after midnight, a deputy from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office (VBCSO) attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle for a code violation.

The vehicle fled westbound on Red Arrow Highway at speeds around 80 mph, according to VBCSO.
The vehicle then turned north onto County Road 652 before turning into a subdivision and dropping speeds under 10 mph, before returning to County Road 652, and coming to a stop.

Deputies apprehended the driver. a 58-year-old Plainwell man, without further incident. A search of the driver and vehicle led to the seizure of a large amount of methamphetamine, as well as packaging materials and scales…
