PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Sheena Meade said she was arrested 20 years ago after a check to buy food for her family bounced.
“It was $87.26, but because of that arrest, it changed my life,” she said. “I wasn’t able to get access to jobs, housing, and even doing the things that I cared about the most: Going on a field trip with my son.”
Meade has never been able to get the mistake off her criminal record in Florida, but she’s now the CEO of an organization that’s trying to help others get that fresh start…
