MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng Says Big Changes Coming For T

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng appeared before the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, talking about the future of the transportation authority at the ‘Transportation First’ event.

The MBTA has announced several changes coming in 2026 for services around the State. From eliminating speed restrictions on the T, to goals of modernizing signals and expanding regional rails, Eng said he isn’t giving up this chance.

“There is so much opportunity over the last few years that we need to build upon,” said Eng. “When this is done, they will be able to better run service later this year, and we will further shorten trips for people.”…
