‘Act of love.’ Framingham bakery owners credit customers for success

FRAMINGHAM For nearly 109 years, Framingham Baking Company has been a cornerstone of Framingham’s south side, woven into daily routines and milestones of multiple generations.

Ever since the family-run bakery announced on Feb. 17 that it would close its doors on March 29, an outpouring of memories has erupted from customers who grew up with their sheet pizza, bread and baked goods.

The 840 Waverly St. bakery is run by siblings Joan, Kathy and Ernie Thomas, who are grandchildren of the original founders. They took over the business from their parents, Rosanne and Ernie, in 1995…
