The Memphis-area restaurant scene has some new additions.
During the first two months of 2026, five new eateries opened in Shelby and DeSoto counties. They offer a wide-ranging mix, from Mexican-inspired fine dining to a cafe with adoptable kitties.
Here is a closer look at the new restaurants that opened in January and February.
Fancy Cat Cafe
Fancy Cat Cafe opened at 5048 Getwell Road in Southaven on Jan. 13. The cafe is split in two — one portion is the cafe, with coffee from Dr. Bean’s on South Main Street, and the pastries from Lucy J’s Bakery at Crosstown. The other portion houses the cats, which all come from the Pet Compassion Center in Memphis, where they have been spayed and neutered, gotten their shots and microchipped.
