DES MOINES, Iowa — This weekend, hunters, archers and deer enthusiasts will take the Iowa Events Center by storm as the Iowa Deer Classic kicks off. Starting on Friday, nearly 400 exhibitors will set up at the EMC Expo Center, along with seminars, displays and contests. Throughout the weekend, there’s one thread that connects all the visitors and vendors, especially if they’re from Iowa, and that’s “Iowa nice.”
Cary Tonioli is a product specialist for Wildlife Farming, which is a company he says sells anything that goes on the back of tractor. He sets up booths at different shows and events across the country and comes back to the Iowa Deer Classic every year.
“Iowa stands alone by itself,” Tonioli said. “It is a fantastic hunting state, and that heritage runs deep through the little kids. You see it at the show, through the little kids all the way up to their parents and the grandparents. Iowa is a hunting state, let’s be real. That’s what it’s known for.”…
