Minooka Village Board Approves Settlement Agreement With Railroad Company

The Village of Minooka has approved a settlement agreement with Wisconsin Central Ltd. resolving all pending litigation tied to the company’s proposed logistics park project. Under the agreement, Wisconsin Central will pay the village $5.5 million for road maintenance and rebuild McLindon Road. The company also agreed to prohibit heavy trucks from using McLindon Road to access the planned 8 million square foot logistics park.

Instead, truck traffic from the project, estimated at more than 800 heavy trucks daily, will be directed to the Illinois Route 6 entrance and the Brisbin Road interchange, consistent with regional transportation planning developed during construction of the interchange…
