Attendance in the cold
During harsh Iowa winters, getting to school isn’t as simple as it looks for some families, as Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Executive Director Ken Morris, Jr. explained.
“Attendance is big, especially in some of our elementary schools that are landlocked,” Morris, Jr. said. “You all know about Iowa winters. Even though somebody might not qualify because of their cutoff, technically they might live within walking distance. It still gets really cold and frigid.”…
