North Texas mayor seeks state action on highway traffic as grocer draws more people to the area

DENTON COUNTY, Texas — A new grocery store opening in one of the fastest-growing areas of North Texas is raising new traffic concerns for neighbors who already deal with congestion along Highway 407.

A new Tom Thumb just off Highway 407 – between Northlake and Argyle – is drawing shoppers to the area. Still, nearby residents Tyler and Breanna Condon said the roads around the growing corridor are already becoming harder to navigate.

“It’s getting worse, but it’s usually around like normal times, I feel like traffic hours. There are a lot of schools over here, so I feel like that makes it worse,” Breanna Condon said…
