Dylan Carey’s 5 for 5 Day Carries Nebraska to 5-4 Win Over SDSU

On a cloudy, dreary day at Haymarket Park, Nebraska faced off against their second Summit League foe in two days, the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. After beating Omaha yesterday, the boys in red were looking to reverse their losing ways against this pesky team from north of the border.

After Nebraska starter Pryce Bender pitched a scoreless top of the first inning, the Cornhuskers struck in the bottom half. Mac Moyer led off drawing a walk from Jackrabbit starter Jaren Vogt. He hustled to second on a Joshua Overbeek single.

With two on and no outs, Nebraska’s hottest hitter, Dylan Carey, smacked a double to score Moyer. Two batters later, Cole Kitchens ripped a single to score Overbeek and Carey. After one inning, Nebraska held a 3-0 lead…
