How Krazy Karl’s Has Teamed up with Walrus Ice Cream

When you think of all the businesses that have started in Colorado, the idea of two of those businesses joining forces seems unlikely. Two that both started in Fort Collins announced in 2026, that they would be “together.”

How Long Has Walrus Ice Cream Been Around Fort Collins?

Walrus Ice Cream began back in 1987, on Mountain Avenue, and has been a Fort Collins favorite ever since. It was in 1999 that the original owner sold the shop to John and Lisa Paugh, to join the Peace Corp.

These days, it’s Lisa Paugh as sole owner of the one shop, though they did give it go with a second shop in south Fort Collins for a bit. If you grew up in Fort Collins, you probably have had a part-time job at Walrus.
