Ephrata police catch suspect for arson and assault

EPHRATA, Wash. — On March 5, 2026, just before 7:00 a.m., Ephrata police responded to reports of a fire and assault at an apartment complex on Basin St SW.

When officers arrived, the suspect had fled, and the fire was out, according to a Facebook post by the Ephrata Police Department. The victim, a 66-year-old man, suffered burns on his right hand from extinguishing the flames.
