PORTLAND, Ore. — Marcia Kahn, director of River Art Gallery in Portland, had just bought a piece titled “Blue” by local artist Jasper York, the featured artist at her gallery inside River Pool and Sports Bar in Old Town.
After purchasing the work, Kahn thought she had properly secured the painting to the roof of her car before she set off down Highway 26. What happened next caught her completely off guard.
“We thought it was super secure,” Kahn said. “I’m flying down the freeway getting almost home and I hear this noise on the top of my car and I saw it out the back window, flying off into the freeway.”…
