Man appears in court for H Street murder, BPD still seek second suspect

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A 24-year-old Bakersfield man accused of beating another man and leaving him in the street in June 2025, where he was later run over, appeared in court Friday on a murder charge.

Alberto Felix pleaded not guilty back on Feb. 25, 2026, in the death of Justin Randle, 34.

Meanwhile, Bakersfield police have been searching for a second murder suspect, Salvador Gutierrez, since late February.

According to court documents, Alberto Felix was in a car with two other suspects in June 2025, when the driver, 24-year-old Salvador Gutierrez, allegedly accelerated toward 34-year-old Justin Randle, who was standing alone in a parking lot. Randle was struck and ran away.

Court documents say Felix and Gutierrez then chased Randle toward 11th and H streets, where they allegedly beat him until he lost consciousness. Randle was left in the road and was later run over by an uninvolved driver…
