Ex-Sycamore Brewing owner indicted months after allegedly raping teen in Stanly County

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) – The former co-owner of Sycamore Brewing was indicted by a jury in Stanly County this week, months after he allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl in December 2025.

Court records showed 44-year-old Justin Tawse Brigham was indicted on numerous charges on Monday, March 2.

Those offenses were:

  • Statutory rape of a child under 15
  • First-degree burglary
  • Indecent liberties with a child
  • 3 counts of statutory sex offense with a child under 15
  • Second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor
  • Solicit by computer
  • Assault causing serious bodily injury

The charges stemmed from the night of Dec. 10, 2025, when Brigham allegedly went into the girl’s house and had intercourse with her. The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office said a relative called 911, and Brigham was found naked in a car, not far from the home…
