Pedestrian in life-threatening condition after being struck in front of Parkview Hospital Randallia

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A pedestrian is in life-threatening condition Thursday after being struck by a vehicle in front of Parkview Hospital Randallia, the Fort Wayne Police Department confirmed.

A woman was hit shortly after noon while trying to cross State Boulevard at Leroy Avenue — right across from the entrance to the emergency room. Dispatch initially confirmed she was hospitalized with serious injuries; the FWPD said in an update her condition was downgraded to life-threatening.

Police determined the vehicle that hit her was southbound on Leroy turning west onto State when the crash happened.

The driver is cooperating with investigators, FWPD Sgt. Jonathan Cutler said, adding the collision appeared to be an accident and not intentional…
