Meteorologist Terri DeBoer running for Congress

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Terri DeBoer, who has spent decades as a meteorologist in West Michigan, is running for Congress.

DeBoer officially launched her campaign Thursday. Online records show she is running as a Republican to represent Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District, which covers metro Grand Rapids and much of Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties. That seat is currently held by U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten, D-Grand Rapids.

“There will be a lot to get done when I am in Congress, but off the bat I will prioritize policies that lower the cost of living for West Michiganders, protect the vulnerable among us, and keep our communities safe,” DeBoer’s campaign website says.
