MDSO: Fake contractor took over $1,000 to extend victim’s driveway, bailed on job

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 50-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, nearly a year after he took more than $1,000 from a homeowner to extend the driveway of the home and then bailed on the job, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.

According to an arrest report, Marlon Hernandez Gomez, of Miami, came to an agreement with the victim on May 31, 2025, to extend the driveway for $2,254.

Deputies said the victim gave Hernandez Gomez $1,126 to begin the work, but after receiving the payment, he never returned to the home nor provided any materials to the victim…
