Homeowner insurance tips for when severe weather strikes Kentucky

KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — From heavy snow to pouring rain, severe weather can leave homeowners with a big mess to clean up.

“I always tell people when they call me and say, ‘I think I may have damage,’ I hope they are first off okay, that they themselves are okay, but then I have them assess where it is and determine how much damage they think it might be,” said Claude Singleton, manager at Bra & Oakley Insurance Agency in Lexington.

Singleton said owners should know their coverage ahead of time; it can make the claims process much easier.
