ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to develop, millions of children are using it as a companion.

Researchers from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia found both risks and benefits from children using AI. AI storytelling can support language development and vocabulary, according to the findings. However, researchers said children have difficulty identifying misinformation shared by AI and may rely on AI to complete their homework. Researchers also warned that dependence on AI companionship can decrease face-to-face social interactions.
