66-Year-Old Man Struck And Killed In Pinellas Park Crosswalk Collision

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Pinellas Park police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on March 5, 2026, in the 3800 block of 70th Avenue North. At approximately 7:40 PM, 66-year-old Bryon Tavenner was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the street.

The investigation determined that Tavenner was walking north within a marked crosswalk at the time of the incident. However, the pedestrian “cross” signal had not been activated.

A gold Lexus SUV, driven by 55-year-old Maria Nguyen, was traveling westbound on 70th Avenue when it struck Tavenner in the roadway. Nguyen reported that she did not see the pedestrian prior to the collision…
