SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A proposal to transfer the University of South Florida’s Sarasota campus to New College of Florida is drawing opposition from Congressman Vern Buchanan, who said the two institutions serve different purposes and should remain independent.
New College has said the change would represent the continued evolution of higher education in the region. Buchanan disagrees.
