Cazenovia, N.Y. — The village of Cazenovia will get $10 million in state taxpayer money to boost its downtown area, three years after losing the economic activity generated from the former Cazenovia College.
The money is meant to help the Madison County village’s goal of increasing the community’s economic activity, cultural events and recreation, Gov. Kathy Hochul said during a visit this afternoon.
It’s also meant as a financial shot-in-the-arm after the village lost Cazenovia College in 2023, ending the school’s 199-year legacy. The college was the village’s largest employer, with more than 200 employees and more than 700 students…
