JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A major step forward for the Pearl River Flood Control Project is underway. Federal officials selected a preferred plan that could bring long-term flood relief to many families across the Jackson-metro area.
The project has been in the works for decades, dating back to the historic 1979 flood. Momentum picked up recently when the preferred plan was approved.
