New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno on Friday accused the Municipal Police Employees’ Retirement System of trying to strongarm the city into paying money it doesn’t owe as the two sides work to resolve several outstanding legal disputes.
“I will push back on anyone who I think is trying to do any type of money grab on the City of New Orleans. It’s not something that I’m going to stand for,” Moreno said in an interview. “I’m sick of their bullying tactics.”
