Duke, a frightened dog, was rescued from the middle of Interstate 35 in San Antonio earlier this week. Traffic was moving quickly around him when a concerned driver stopped on the inside shoulder to protect him. Duke crawled under the vehicle and refused to come out until help arrived.
The San Antonio Police Department and an Animal Care Officer worked together to safely remove Duke from under the car and bring him to Animal Care Services (ACS). Duke is now safe but still timid and adjusting to his new surroundings. ACS is seeking a patient adopter who can give him time to trust and settle into a loving home.
