SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — In the aftermath of a major transmission water main break, the City of Shreveport is stepping in to provide free bottled water to affected residents.
Shreveport receives repair materials for major water main break
The initiative comes as the city continues to grapple with challenges from the recent break and a citywide voluntary boil advisory, prompting local officials to mobilize resources quickly.
The City is actively sourcing bottled water from various regions and setting up distribution points as shipments arrive.
Residents can currently pick up water at designated locations:
- Huntington High School
- Lee Hedges Stadium
- Louisiana State Fairgrounds
- Shreve City Shopping Center – 1273 Shreveport-Barksdale Highway
- 6140 Greenwood Road (former Brookshire’s lot)
- Summer Grove Baptist Church – 8924 Jewella Avenue
Distribution Scheduled for Wednesday, March 4.
